To spread the message of water conservation, the Kochi Chapter of the Indian Green Building Council in association with the Greater Cochin Development Authority conducted a water rally at Kochi backwaters on Wednesday.

About 50 boats took part in the rally, which was flagged off in the afternoon by B. Madhusoodhana Kurup, Vice Chancellor, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies.

The procession, which travelled up to the oil tanker berth near the Fine Arts Hall, concluded at the Marine drive Boat Jetty.

GCDA chairman N. Venugopal accompanied the rally with the charter of plans for water conservation, along with B.R. Ajith, Chairman Kochi Chapter of the Indian Green Building Council. On the occasion, a team of 12 artists led by artist Kaladharan painted on a 50-feet canvas titled the ‘Water-wall’.
