The State police are busy at work with preparations for the international cyber security and policing conference set to take place in Kochi on August 22 and 23.

Experts on cyber security and police officers from different parts of the world are scheduled to take part in the two-day conference, being hosted by the Kerala police and organised in association with the Society for Policing of Cyberspace and the Information Security Research Association. The conference will discuss policies related to cyber security and law on the one side and technical developments in cyber policing on the other. “The annual meet is an opportunity for experts on cyber security to interact with their peers from across the globe and discuss latest developments in the field,” said a police officer.

Police officers from each district in the State will participate in the conference. Three cyber cell officers from each State have also been invited to take part in the conference. Former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will be the keynote speaker for the event. Cyber security administrators and police officers from different countries, legal experts, ethical hackers and security researchers will present papers at the two-day conference.

Another highlight of the meet is a one-day workshop on cyber security and ethical hacking for women to be held on August 21.

The workshop will feature women speakers on topics of cyber security and ethical hacking. Participation in the workshop is open to women interested in the subject. The seminar will also feature an overview of ‘security as a career.’
