Cochin Port Trust has cancelled the licence for operating the fuel bunkering jetty close to the site of the Fort Kochi-Vypeen boat jetty.

Port Trust sources said that the jetty licence had been cancelled as fishing boats crowded at the fuel bunkering terminal causing navigational problems.

The fishing boat that hit the ferry boat plying between Fort Kochi and Vypeen was leaving the bunkering jetty after it had taken supplies. The boat was apparently speeding when it hit the ferry vessel that broke into two.
