Two police teams are in Chennai to nab the two absconding accused in the Mithila Mohan murder case, the Crime Branch informed the Kerala High Court on Monday.

A police team had arrested Santhosh Kumar alias Kannan from Thrissur. However, third accused Mathilavan and fourth accused Uppali are still on the run. The murder weapon has to be seized and the vehicle used by the accused traced. The police made the submission in a statement filed by K.G. Simon, Superintendent of Police, Hurt and Homicide wing, Crime Branch. Mr. Simon had filed the statement in response to a petition by Manesh, son of Mr. Mohan, who sought a CBI inquiry into the case. According to Mr. Manesh, his father was murdered by a professional killer.

The police failed to probe the involvement of several influential persons in the city in the murder, he said. A thorough investigation into the activities of Mohan’s business rivals would bring out the truth.
