The association of FACT retired employees has demanded that benefits due to them must be paid in the wake of a decision by the company management to sell FACT land.
A statement issued here on Tuesday by K.C. Mathew, president of the Association, and its general secretary Devasikutty Padayattil said that the salary dues of employees who retired on January 1, 1997, had not been paid yet. Around 4,500 employees, who retired from the company at various stages, were yet to get their salary dues, the statement added.
However, employees who left public sector fertiliser companies such as the Madras Fertiliser Company under similar circumstances had been paid their dues. The case of the FACT retired employees is one of ‘partiality’ and ‘injustice’, the statement added.
