Patriarch of the Syrian Orthodox Church Ignatius Aphrem II

Archbishop of Mosul, Iraq, Gregorios Saliba Shamoun, Archbishop of Turabdin Timotheos Samule Aktas, and Malankara affairs secretary Mar Timotheos Mathews will be among those accompanying Patriarch of the Syrian Orthodox Church Ignatius Aphrem II on his visit to India.

The Patriarch will arrive here on February 7 and will be accompanied by five prominent lay leaders from the United States and Syria, said a spokesman for the committee overseeing preparations for the visit of the Patriarch, here on Thursday.

The Patriarch will be received at the Cochin international airport by Catholicos Baselios Thomas I and representatives of the State government as he is visiting Kerala as a State guest.

A meeting of lay and priestly leaders of the Jacobite Church appointed different committees to oversee the arrangements for the visit of the Patriarch.
