Panel to look into admission test complaints

May 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:57 am IST - KOCHI:

The monitoring committee of the Common Admission Test (CAT) for admission to various programmes into the Cochin University of Science and Technology will examine complaints submitted by students that a section of the question paper for the B. Tech entrance examination held on May 2 was not legible and difficult to read.

The varsity had received complaints from a few centres quoting the candidates that a few Maths questions were not readable owing to poor printing quality.

Students in some centres had pointed out that more than 10 questions in the Maths section were not printed properly.

A meeting of the CAT monitoring committee held on the campus on Monday decided to consider the complaints. A final decision will be taken on the basis of the report submitted by the committee.

The meeting observed that the university authorities concerned had no access to the original question papers distributed among the candidates as it was printed ensuring secrecy and confidentiality in a centre outside the State.

The monitoring committee also decided to publish the answer key to the admission test on Tuesday.
