Over 15 lakh to reach Aluva for Sivarathri

With nearly 15 lakh people expected to reach Aluva from all over the State for the Sivarathri festival, the police have made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

Traffic regulations will be in place in Aluva town from Tuesday 4 p.m. to Wednesday 1 p.m. Vehicles going to Manappuram have been asked to use the GCDA Road from Seminarippady to reach Manappuram. Parking facilities have been arranged for Kerala State Transport Corporation (KSRTC) and private vehicles.

KSRTC buses and private vehicles coming from Angamaly and Paravoor to Manappuram will be routed to the KSRTC bus stand through the GCDA Road and new GCDA Road.

Buses, both private and KSRTC, coming from Ernakulam along the National Highway should turn right from Pulinchode Junction to take Karothkuzhy Junction and Fire Station to reach the private bus stand.

Buses from the private bus stand should take the service road to proceed towards Pulinchodu. KSRTC buses from Perumbavoor area should take the Pump Junction to reach the temporary parking facility in front of MG Town Hall and return from there.

Space has been marked out for the first five KSRTC buses reaching there and the rest should be parked at the garage at Pulinchodu.

Private buses from Perumbavoor should go along Power House Road to reach Government Hospital Junction and Karothkuzhy Junction to reach the bus stand and on the way back, take service road to reach Pulinchodu Junction, turn left to Karothkuzhy Junction, Hospital Road and Power House Road to continue the service.

No traffic will be allowed from Bank Junction to MG Town Hall and no parking will be allowed on either side of the National Highway and side roads.

Heavy vehicles coming from the Thrissur side will have to take MC Road to reach their respective destinations while those from Ernakulam should take the Container Road to reach Athani via North Paravur and continue their onward journey.
