April 18, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:40 am IST - KOCHI:

“Seventy per cent of the old pipe lines in my constituency have been replaced to ensure smooth water supply to various regions,” claimed Dominic Presentation, MLA.

However, he agreed that many dilapidated pipes were yet to be removed affecting the continued supply of drinking water to the public. “About Rs. 4.5 crore was spent to replace old pipe lines in my segment. But rectification work is still not complete,” he said.

Stating that the West Kochi phase of the JNNURM scheme was completed, Mr. Presentation said that the water scarcity in Kumbalangi and Chellanam have been resolved fully, with the commissioning of the water tank at Kandakadavu.
