November 19, 2013 11:59 am | Updated May 26, 2016 07:25 am IST - KOCHI:

The city will pay tribute to cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, who recently retired from the sport, by naming the VIP pavilion of the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium at Kaloor after him. Indian team captain M.S. Dhoni will inaugurate the function at 12 noon on Wednesday.

The pavilion will feature photographs of moments from Tendulkar’s playing days.

A bat and jersey signed by the Little Master will be on display. Fifty-one red balls and 49 white balls will line the pavilion to celebrate the cricketer’s 51 Test centuries and 49 ODI tons.

A bat signed by players of the Indian and West Indies teams will be displayed at the pavilion.
