Notice issued to Biju Ramesh over defamation case

The Ernakulam Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate court on Saturday issued notice to Kerala Bar Hotel Owners' Association working president Biju Ramesh in connection with a defamation petition filed by Excise Minister K Babu.

Considering the case, the court recorded the statement of a witness identified as P D Sukumaran and posted the case for further hearing on July 10. The court had recorded the statement of K. Babu in this connection. The case pertains to a petition filed by the Minister before the court stating that Biju Ramesh defamed him by making false statement through the media. – Staff Reporter
