Nod for projects worth Rs.135 crore

The District Planning Committee (DPC) has approved 1,213 proposals put forward by the district panchayat for the year 2013-14.

The projects worth Rs.135.15 crore were approved at a meeting chaired by district panchayat standing committee chairman and DPC member K.K. Soman. There are 757 new projects and 456 spill-over projects.

The School Infra project aimed at improving the quality of government schools has been allotted Rs.13.58 crore. Schools with least infrastructure facilities will be given priority.

Projects worth Rs.8.66 crore will be implemented in the productive sector. Service sector projects have been allocated Rs.11.65 crore.

Projects worth Rs.14.92 crore will be implemented in the infrastructure sector. For mechanisation the agrarian sector will bag Rs.1.25 crore.

An amount of Rs.2 crore has been set apart for the purchase of tricycles for the differently-abled.
