No fuel shortage: IOC

Indian Oil Corporation has said that there was no shortage of petrol in the State even as some dealers reported that they had not received their supplies in the early hours of the day.

Though there was an assurance that petrol supplies would be normal, some outlets had not received their supplies, said a city dealer. He, however, said the situation was expected to be normal because he had received a message that the fuel load would arrive late in the afternoon.

Sources in the oil marketing PSU said while the average per day supply was 1,200 KLs, supply levels had been raised to 2,600 KLs on Friday and to 1,600 KLs on Saturday. These supplies were being delivered from the Irimpanam storage facility of the IOC.

IOC sources said supplies had reached all the outlets on Saturday except for those perhaps in remote areas. Even there, only payment problems could have held up the supplies, they added.
