: PWD Minister V.K. Ebrahim Kunju has said that Rs. 10 crore will be allotted for the construction of culvert near PVS Hospital at Kaloor.

Delivering the inaugural address after opening the Kottekkanal Road here on Friday, Mr. Kunju said that issuing free pass to residents near Pulleppady overbridge would be considered.

He said that PVS culvert was expected to be taken up by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation under the revival of roads as part of the Kochi Metro Rail project. Despite the financial constraints of the Public Works Department, an allocation of Rs. 10 crore would be made for the project considering requests of people’s representatives like Hibi Eden, MLA. Mr. Kunju said that the roads within the Corporation limits could be elevated to Bitumen Macadam and Bitumen Concrete (BMBC) standards during its tenure.
