New-look theatre complex at N. Paravur

Kairali-Sree to be opened on Saturday

KOCHI: Chitranjali theatre, North Paravur, owned by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC), has been given a facelift.

Minister for Culture A.K. Balan will inaugurate the complex, renamed as Kairali-Sree, at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The new theatres were set up at a cost of ₹4 crore. While Kairali has a seating capacity of 350, Sree can accommodate 245 people.

The highlights of the theatres include 2K projection, 7.1 sound system, silver screen, push-back seats, generators, LED display lights, and better parking facility. The renovated complex has an enhanced acoustic system and canteen too.

Film buffs can reserve their seats online. The rate of a ticket is ₹100.

According to an official release, V.D. Satheesan, MLA, will preside over the inaugural function. K.V. Thomas, MP, will switch on the screening. S. Sarma, MLA, will make the first ticket sale at Kairali, and North Paravur municipal chairman Ramesh D. Kurup will inaugurate ticket sales at Sree.
