Lieutenant Commander Mithilesh Upadhyay, currently undergoing anti-submarine warfare (ASW) course at the Southern Naval Command here, won the prestigious Admiral Hiranandani Trophy for best performance during the year-long naval warfare specialisation courses conducted by the command, which takes care of training in the Navy.
Gunnery and Missile Warfare, Navigation and Direction, Signals, Satellite and Network Centric Warfare are the other courses from among which the winners were selected. Lieutenant Commander Ankit Bhade, Lieutenant Commander KU Limaye and Lieutenant Vineet Sharma bagged book prizes as runners-up.
The trophy was presented by Susheel Hiranandani, spouse of the late Vice-Admiral G.M. Hiranandani, who was also the Navy’s official historian in whose memory the trophy was instituted.
Rear Admiral M.S. Pawar, Chief of Staff of the command and Manick Hiranandani, son of the late Vice-Admiral, witnessed the event.
