National workshop on biodiversity

The National Biodiversity Board, in association with International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI) South Asia, and the Kochi Municipal Corporation, is organising a workshop on ‘Guidelines for Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan’ here on Tuesday.

Meenakumari, Chairperson, National Biodiversity Authority, will inaugurate the event at a function to be presided over by Mayor Soumini Jain. Respresentatives from all major cities across India and biodiversity board members of States including Kerala, Goa, Assam and Telangana, will take part in the event.

Action plan

The event is aimed at implementing the biodiversity action plan at the national, State and local levels along the lines of the German-funded INTERACT-Bio programme in Kochi.
