Mystery alleged in ex-Speaker’s death

The Kochi City Police Commissioner has ordered an inquiry in a complaint lodged by the relatives of former Speaker and Kerala Congress leader T.S. John, alleging mystery over his death. According to sources, the complaint also stated that properties of T.S. John, a former Minister, had been handed over to a private trust which had been constituted by him. John, who died on June 8 at the age of 76, was the Speaker during 1976-77 in the fourth Kerala Legislative Assembly and also served as the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies in the A.K. Antony and P.K. Vasudevan Nair governments.
