The ‘My Stamp’ service of the Postal Department was launched in the Central Region at the Head Post Office in Kochi here on Wednesday morning. The service was inaugurated by former Supreme Court judge V.R. Krishna Iyer, who accepted a series of stamps featuring his photograph.

The ‘My Stamp’ service allows customers to bring out stamps with their thumbnail-sized photographs, images or logos of institutions, heritage buildings, or tourist spots. A sheet of 12 stamps costs Rs.300. “The service is currently available only from the head post offices. We have already received 15 applications at the Ernakulam head post office on Wednesday. Besides these, another 20 at sub-offices,” said an official.
