The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team probing the Paul Muthoot George murder case has on Thursday reportedly taken into custody one more person from Mannancherry here in connection with the case.

The person taken into custody on Thursday was Anish, son of Ismail, who was arrested on Wednesday. Anish, who will be arraigned as the 28th accused in the case according to sources, faces the same charges

– that of attempts to destroy evidence - as his father Ismail, the 27th accused and Siddique, the 26th accused and who was arrested along with Ismail.

A 10-member CBI team on Thursday took Anish to various spots in and around Mannancherry to collect evidence after they arrived with him here around 5.15 p.m. Most of the evidence collection was centered in

a marshy area behind the Mannancherry bus-stand, where the team made Anish dig up a few places. A plastic kit was recovered from one of these pits, sources said, though the contents of the kit were not

revealed.

The team left for Kochi with Anish around 6.50 p.m.
