St.Thomas Christian Museum gets rare collection of crosses

At first glance, it may look like just another ecclesiastical initiative. But these are actually part of an artistic endeavour shedding some light on the evolution and growth of a doctrine having followers all around the globe.

In a unique initiative, the St.Thomas Christian Museum at the Mount St.Thomas Church at Kakkanad has opened the display of a rare collection of about 800 holy crosses

The assortment includes the traditional ones found only in the Christian homes of Kerala, Mar Thomas Sleeha Sacramental cross, Ethiopian cross and Jerusalem cross, in addition to varieties such as Agape cross, Trinitarian cross and Bridal cross, among others.
