Moving ahead of schedule

Kitco Limited, which has been appointed as the design and project management consultancy of the Rs. 200-crore engine overhaul facility of Air India at Nagpur, is on course to complete the design ahead of the allotted time.

Though the firm has been set six months’ time for coming up with the design of the facility meant for the repair and overhaul of the engines of B-777 and B-787 aircraft in the carrier’s fleet, KITCO seems determined to complete it by March.

Once the design is approved, tenders will be floated for selecting contractors for the construction of the facility. The project is just one of the many Kitco has taken up in the aviation sector. “We are set to take over as project management consultant of the proposed Kannur airport next week. Initially, we were roped in only as design consultants,” Kitco managing director Cyriac Davies told The Hindu .
