Moulding skilled entrepreneurs

A 20-day skill development camp under the aegis of the District Industries Centre was inaugurated here on Monday by District Collector M.G. Rajamanickam.

The training programme, under the Naipunya scheme, involves the food processing and plastic injection moulding segments, said a press release here.

District president of the Kerala State Small Industries Association K.J. Joseph was among those present at the occasion.

The skill development programme is being organised by the DIC in collaboration with the Agro Park, Piravom and the Centre for Bio-Polymer Science and Technology, Kochi.

The 20-day programme is part of a slew of training and entrepreneurship initiatives of the DIC.

A two-week entrepreneurship programme is also on the anvil. A district-level investor meet along with a one-day seminar has also been planned for September.
