The Crime Branch investigating the Mithila Mohan murder case on Thursday informed the court that the revolver used by the accused was yet to be recovered, and that there was no leading information about the weapon.

In a statement, K.M. Sabu Mathew, Superintendent of Police, Crime Branch, said four bullets recovered from the body of the deceased during autopsy had been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Chennai. The examination reports said that the bullets were fired from a factory made IOF 32 revolver. The statement further pointed out that it was used by the third and fourth accused Mathivannan and Uppali respectively. To garner information about the weapon, the two accused had to be arrested. But no leading clues were available.

The statement was filed on a petition by Manesh, son of the deceased, seeking CBI probe.
