The 25th edition of the Mahatma Gandhi University Youth Festival appears all set to be headed for an exciting finish. With a day left in the cultural fete, St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam continued to lead with 57 points after the declaration of results of 32 events. However, the lead that the college had maintained over others has been gradually on the decrease.

Having faced a few unexpected setbacks during the previous days, Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam has come back strongly to garner 45 points. RLV College of Music and Fine Arts, Tripunithura follows closely with 41 points. Sacred Heart College, Thevara and Federal Institute of Science and Technology, Angamaly occupied the next positions with 31 and 29 points respectively.

Meanwhile, the cancellation of the Kathakali event resulted in a sit-in demonstration by participants and parents on CMS College Road on Thursday. The set of events occurred after the judges who were expected for the event turned up late.
