Moving closer towards clearing a major hurdle in its first reach, the Kochi metro authority has deputed a four-member team to look into the complaints raised by Kalamassery municipality.

The team, comprising members from the Kochi Metro Rail Limited and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, will inspect the metro site near the dumping yard on Monday to identify the violations in land use agreement , as alleged by the municipal authority. Further, it is also mandated to look into dumping of concrete waste, breaking of telephone cables and enforcement of unscientific traffic regulations and the demand for opening drainages, metro sources said.

“There is an urgent need to open the 10-meter drainage on either side of the road from the University Junction to the municipality office, which have been filled with concrete waste and soil’’, said municipality officials.

Besides, a decision to resume work in the interim had been reached, they said.
