A meeting of metro stakeholders, PWD and NHAI officials will be held on Saturday. The meeting will discuss issues such as widening narrow portions on Aluva-Edappally National Highway for Kochi Metro and the construction of the Edappally flyover. The much-delayed widening of Vyttila-Pettah stretch also will be discussed.
New director
In the meantime, Ved Mani Tiwari joined Kochi Metro Rail Limited as Director (Systems) on Thursday. He is a 1992 batch IRSEE officer with 23 years experience across different systems of transportation.
He was working as Director in the Ministry of Railways in charge of modernisation of EMUs, setting up new manufacturing facilities and procurement of new generation locomotives and EMUs.
Prior to this, he was working as Joint General Manger of DMRC. His area of specialisation and expertise include procurement, installation, testing commissioning, designing and preparation of bid document, formulation and implementation of policies and programmes.
During his stint in DMRC, he was a part of team which handled the interfacing with viaduct, track and signalling system, telecom system, rolling stock and utilities of line III of phase1 of Delhi Metro.
