The unveiling of the new logo for Kochi metro on Thursday has evoked mixed reactions.

The social media was abuzz with comments of those who preferred the older ‘interim’ logo that was in the shape of the Malayalam letter, ‘Ka’. While a few appreciated KMRL’s intention to have a newer logo in keeping with the metro’s proposed integration with other commuting modes, numerous others posted online that it neither symbolised Kochi nor the metro. KMRL sources said the company had opted for change because of some technical issues connected with the interim logo.
