The District Medical Officer has warned outdoor workers against sun stroke.
Agriculture and construction workers and those enrolled under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme has also been alerted against sun stroke.
People should avoid getting exposed to direct sunlight between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Those working under such conditions should take rest under shade in frequent intervals and have plenty of cooled boiled water.
Avoid taking soft drinks prepared in unhygienic conditions along roadsides. People standing or working under sun for long hours are also vulnerable to sun stroke. The person should be taken to hospital if the uneasiness continues.
District Medical Officer also warned against letting children playing under afternoon sun.
