PDP leader Abdul Nazir Maudany said here on Monday that he suspected a conspiracy behind the attempt to delay his departure for Kerala. “The fact that they [detractors] managed to sabotage my trip even after obtaining a boarding pass suggests that somebody has a role in it,” Maudani said, addressing the media on his arrival at the Nedumbassery airport. He also thanked the people of Kerala for the enormous support extended to him and expressed delight in being given an opportunity to celebrate Ramdan with his friends and family after a period of six years.
Earlier, he arrived here by an Indigo flight around 8.15 p.m. and emerged out of the domestic terminal half-an-hour later to a rousing reception by hundreds of his supporters. He was also accompanied by his wife Sufia Maudani and PDP State secretary Muhammad Rajeeb.
As soon as Maudani emerged out of the terminal, loud cheers resounded in the air, with jubilant supporters giving deafening cheers.
The frenzy on his arrival was such that the measures unveiled by the airport security personnel were relegated to second place, and as he entered a van waiting outside the terminal, he was greeted with slogans.
