Maoists to be produced in court today

: Maoist leader Ropeesh and his wife Shyna are slated to be produced in the Additional Sessions Court in Ernakulam on Wednesday.

The couple is being brought here following a production warrant issued by the Court against them with a case for arranging hide out for Maoist central committee member Malla Raja Reddy and wife Beecha Sugana at Angamaly in 2007.

In view of their arrival, the police have made elaborate security arrangements, including the deployment of bomb and dog squads. A team under Assistant Commissioner of Police will supervise the security arrangements.

Officials said that a team comprising members of armed police and commando unit would be accompanying the duo from Coimbatore jail where are currently lodged.
