ManUtd fans all set to have a ball

It’s a do-or-die fixture for their favourite team and the young fans of the English Premiere League giant Manchester United in the city are all set to make it memorable.

The Manchester United Supporters Club in Kerala (MUSCK), the officially recognised fans’ club of the English club, has lined up a slew of events as ManUtd takes on Crystal Palace in the final of the 135th edition of the much coveted and historic FA Cup at the Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday. The kick off at 10 p.m. will be preceded by a six-hour-long revelry culminating with the screening of the match at ChaiCofi, a café near Kaloor. The highlight of the day will be a three-hour-long FIFA 16, a football simulation video game played over PlayStation and Xbox, starting from 4 p.m. This will be followed by a Fergie Time Quiz after the legendary former Red Devils manager Alex Ferguson. After a very disappointing EPL season in which the club ended up out of the top four and thus missing out next season’s Champions League, fans are desperate to see their team laying their hand on some silverware and they will settle for nothing other than the FA Cup.

Fans from central and south Kerala are expected to turn up for the events. Kozhikode is the only other city in the State to host a similar programme complete with match screening on Saturday. Dubai will also host such an event.
