KOCHI: A 54-year-old man was killed after a speeding tourist bus rammed his scooter on Thursday morning near St. Mary’s public school at Karukadam near Kothamangalam.
The deceased was identified as Ramesh, a native of Karukadam. Ramesh was heading towards Kothamangalam along the Muvattupuzha-Kothamangalam route at the time of the accident.
The bus, which was coming in the opposite direction, collided head-on with the two-wheeler. In the impact of the collision, the scooter rider got tossed off the vehicle.
A case was registered under Sections 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304-A (Causing death by negligence) of the IPC.
