The Hill Palace police arrested Sajin, 22, of Konni in Pathanamthitta, on charge of stealing Rs.4.5 lakh from the office of an oil mill in Tripunithura. “Sajin joined the oil mill in Tripunithura as a salesman on July 1. He is accused of stealing Rs.4.5 lakh from the owner’s desk,” said a police officer. When the police traced him, he had bought a 2-acre coriander leaf farm in Gudallur in Tamil Nadu. He was arrested and brought to the city on Tuesday.
Woman heldA Tamil Nadu native was arrested by the police after she allegedly attempted to steal a purse from a woman’s bag on board a private bus in the city. Sindhu, 24, who was living in Aluva, was detained.
Chain snatchingA motorcyclist made away with a gold chain worn by a woman at Kakkanad here on Wednesday afternoon. Police said the woman was walking along the NGO quarters route around 3.30 p.m. when a motorcyclist wearing a helmet and a jacket slowed down beside her and snatched her gold chain weighing three sovereigns.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
