: The police have arrested a 29-year-old man on the charges of abetting the suicide of a college student.
Jibu, a resident of Chambakkara, running a meat stall near the deceased girl’s house had proposed to the girl. In spite of the girl rejecting his proposal, Jibu continued to pester her and had even threatened the girl and her family members, the police said.
Following this, she was shifted to one of her relative’s home where she ended her life on April 7.
Parents’ allegations
Her parents alleged that the stress due to his marriage proposal and threatening could have led to the suicide.
The accused, father of a four-year old kid had been living separately from his family. He was produced in a local court and remanded in custody.
