KOCHI: The city police on Saturday arrested a youth for allegedly misbehaving with a woman police officer posted at one of the metro stations in the city.

The accused was identified by the police as Vishnu, 23, a resident of Nonottu house, Panangad.

According to the police, the accused, who drives an autorickshaw in the city, had been stalking the police woman posted at Maharaja’s Ground metro station since October 27.

The police had earlier intercepted him but he managed to flee.

“Again on November 1, the youth stopped his autorickshaw near the woman when she was returning after her duty around 8 p.m. He then made a lewd gesture at her before riding off,” the police said.

The victim immediately lodged a complaint with the Central Police.
