The Maharaja’s College authorities on Friday exhibited a treasure house of knowledge by releasing abstracts of 100 PhDs produced by researchers on the campus.

Hibi Eden, MLA, released the documents. He also laid the foundation stone for the ₹12.2-crore library complex at the college. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Eden said Maharaja’s remained a model for the academic community in the State.

The abstracts of doctoral works were published under three categories, namely science, social science, and languages. K.S. Radhakrishnan, former Chairman of the State Public Service Commission, released the catalogue of publications by faculty members on the occasion. The college authorities have tried to disseminate knowledge by publishing a catalogue of research publications and abstracts of PhDs, he said.

Dharmaraj Adat, Vice Chancellor of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, delivered the keynote address. Researchers and guides behind the 100 PhDs were felicitated. P.K. Raveendran, chairman of college governing council, and Principal N. Hitha were present.

KITCO will execute the proposed three-storey library project, which is expected to be completed in 18 months. The plan is to develop the facility into a five-storey building later. It will be a modern library with digital infrastructure. The college management has plans to open up the library for the academic community in Ernakulam.
