A joint meeting of LPG agencies, the appellate body of resident associations and representatives of petroleum companies, held at the District Collectorate on Tuesday, decided to increase the LPG service charge. The meeting, which was presided over by B. Ramachandran, Additional District Magistrate, also decided to seek explanation from distribution agencies for delaying delivery of LPG cylinders. The new service charges will be notified soon. The present service charge was fixed in 2011.

Mr. Ramachandran also directed the agencies to send mobile alerts to consumers informing them the date of delivery of LPG cylinders, according to a press release.
