It takes a master to explain the intricacies of a classical art. Students who attended the lecture demonstration on Bharathanatyam by maestro V.P. Dhananjayan at St. Teresa’s College realised that.

He was addressing the participants at the national seminar ‘’Natyakeli 2012 after inaugurating the Masters degree programme in Bharathanatyam. St. Teresa’s College’s department of Bharathanatyam offers under graduate programme since 2002.

Bharathanatyam is more of a system of knowledge than a dance form, the Padmabhooshan award-winning dancer told the students. All the five senses of man come together in a dance in a fraction of a second and it is the fusion of these elements that add beauty to any dance form, he said.

Sister Teresa, the principal of the college, presided over the function.
