Lab denies test of organs

May 27, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - KOCHI:

Officials investigating the Perumbavoor rape-murder case on Thursday refused to confirm whether the Dalit girl was drugged before she was brutally attacked on April 28.

An official at the Kakkanad Regional Chemical Examiner’s Laboratory denied reports of a test of internal organs at the laboratory. “The chemical test was done at the Thiruvananthapuram laboratory and nothing was done here,” he said.

Meanwhile, sources in the investigation team said the victim had consumed food brought from outside hours before she was murdered, as evident from a chemical test on the residue of food from her internal organs. According to them, the reconstituted Special Investigation Team led by ADGP B. Sandhya would also look into the possibilities of a “friendly intruder” at the victim’s house.
