Kochi: BJP State president Kummanam Rajasekharan has parroted the demand made by INTUC and CITU that the kin of those killed in the blast at Cochin Shipyard be given employment and financial support.

He visited the yard to hold meetings with officials on Friday. Mr. Rajasekharan said the yard management was quick to offer assistance to families of the deceased and to the injured in the blast. “They are also willing to offer employment to the dependents of the deceased without looking whether they were on contract or on the rolls of the company,” he told the media.

On the second day of his Vikas Yatra, he visited Pandit Karuppam Memorial and the memorial for Sahodaran Ayyappan at Cherai. Meetings with eminent citizens and IT and social media personalities were also held.
