With KSRTC buses keeping off the road following a 24-hour strike, long-distance commuters had to rely on trains to reach their destination.

Intra-district commuters boarded private buses, while others took to the road in private vehicles.

Commuters to places like Muvattupuzha were among those badly affected as KSRTC services dominate the route.

Except for a section of officers and a few bus crew, none turned up at KSRTC’s Ernakulam depot. A few migrant workers and others who did not know of the strike had to return from different bus depots in the district. No untoward incident was reported in the wake of the strike.
