Merin Isaac (26) an engineer who sustained severe burn injuries in the fire and accompanying explosion in the control panel of a generator at the Moolamattam power plant on June 20, succumbed to her injuries at a private hospital near here on Saturday around 11.15 a.m..
Ms. Isaac was brought to the hospital here along with another severely injured engineer, K.S. Prabha, (50) on the night of June 20. They were brought here from the Medical College at Kolanchery.
According to hospital sources, Ms. Isaac was admitted to the Burns ICU with over 60 per cent burns. She belonged to Thekkolickal Home, Koovakkandam in Idukki district. The body was released to relatives.
The condition of Mr. Prabha remains critical.
