Kochi to host maiden naval, maritime expo

The city is set to host its maiden Naval and Maritime Expo (NAMEXPO, 2013), on Cochin Port premises for five days from Monday.

Organised by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in collaboration with the Navy, Coast Guard and the Ministries of shipping and micro, mini and small-scale industries, the expo will feature major global defence manufacturers, defence PSUs in India and joint ventures like BrahMos, facilitating interaction between local players, global majors and end-users.

Top defence and naval officials are slated to take part in the conferences held alongside the expo on surface ship and submarine construction; marine propulsion and power generation systems; management technologies; naval aviation systems, technologies and repairs; and naval weapons and sensors.
