Kochi to have 2,027 booths for general election

For the coming general elections, 2,027 polling stations will be set up for voters to exercise their franchise in the district.

These polling stations are to be set up in different Assembly segments in the district. The whole of the Ernakulam Parliamentary constituency and parts of Chalakkudy, Idukki and Kottayam constituencies also fall under the district.

The highest number of polling stations will be in Kanayannur Taluk – 422, which includes these Assembly segments: Tripunithura -151, Ernakulam -122 and Thrikkakkara -147. Kunnathunadu Taluk comes second with 325 polling stations.

For the Ernakulam Lok Sabha constituency, 312 polling stations fall under Paravur taluk — 150 in Kalamassery and 162 in Paravur which form part of the Paravur Assembly constituency.

Voters of Aluva taluk will vote in 289 polling stations.

In Kochi taluk, there will be 286 polling stations covering Vypeen 138 and Kochi 148. Under Kottayam Lok Sabha constituency, in Muvattupuzha taluk, 259 polling booths will be arranged.
