The city’s growing profile as an IT destination will receive a shot in the arm with the State’s first World Trade Centre (WTC) — a trade facilitating body licensed by the New York-based World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) — set to come up at the Infopark campus shortly.

Kochi WTC, to be set up by real estate major Brigade Group, will focus on IT and IT-enabled services. It will be the company’s second WTC in South India after Bangalore.

To be co-developed with Kochi Infopark, the Kochi WTC will offer 7.70 lakh sq. ft split into twin towers featuring state-of-the-art infrastructure, easy accessibility, Grade A specifications and LEED Gold Pre-certification.

The first tower offering commercial space of 3.85 lakh sq. ft would be completed by October this year, while the second tower of equal size would be finished by next December, Vishal Mirchandani, CEO (Retail and Commercial), Brigade Enterprises, told a press conference here on Friday.
