Kochi city and the City of Norfolk, Virginia, USA, signed a sister city partnership agreement on Thursday. Mayor Mercy Williams and representatives of the Norfolk Sister City Association representatives Manfred Shewards Ann Shewards Miller and Anupama Keats attended the function.
Sharing of good practices and exchange programmes in art, culture and education and fostering of business partnerships would be possible through the agreement, Ms. Williams said.
K.J. Sohan, N.A. Mani and E.M. Sunilkumar, chairmen of the Standing Committees of the Kochi Corporation were also present.
Presentation
A presentation on the draft master plan for Kochi city was held. Chief Town Planner Eapen Varghese, senior town planner T.M. Sudha and Ms. Williams led the presentation.
