Kochi Metro works disrupted

Kochi Metro works at Kalamassery was disrupted for a few hours on Tuesday after an adjacent industrial unit objected to temporarily closing its gate for metro works.

Deadlock resolved

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) sources said the workers had to stop foundation works till 12 noon. “The deadlock was resolved after we informed the District Collector and Kochi Metro Rail Limited of the issue. The industrial unit has a wide alternative gate for vehicles to enter. But they objected to our work that will end in a few days, despite the work site being a public land,” they said.

In the meantime, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s works on Pachalam overbridge continued on Tuesday, even as a few agitators held a protest nearby.
