Kerala’s own angel fund will be announced by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at the forthcoming TiECON, a conference of entrepreneurs, being organised by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) here from December 13. The fund, intended to extend finance to novel ventures, will be the first of its kind in the State. The two-day conference will feature high-end entrepreneurs from various walks of life.
Largest meet
Set to be the largest gathering of entrepreneurs in Kerala, it will bring together a host of celebrated industrialists, investors, businessmen from within and outside the country, according to the organisers.
Bernard A. Harris Jr., astraunat of Columbia mission of Nasa, will be the chief guest at the inaugural session.
C.V. Jacob, chairman, Synthite Industries Limited; P. Ramachandran, Chairman, Jyothi Laboratories and Kochouseph Chittilappilly, Chairman, V-Guard Industries, will be honoured on the occasion.
Awards Awards for entrepreneur of the year, emerging entrepreneur, start-up entrepreneur and woman entrepreneur of the year will be announced at the conference.
The meet, spread over 40 sessions, will highlight success mantras for entrepreneurship, ways to wealth creation through serial entrepreneurship, new trends in agriculture, education and explore emerging sectors such as genomics.
About 100 speakers from various parts of the world will address the event, according to John K. Paul, president of TIE Kerala.
A few of the entrepreneurs taking part in sessions on entrepreneurship, mentoring and venture capital funding include K. Ganesh, founder of TutorVista , Rajeev Madhavan, founder, Magma Design Automation Inc and Sushanto Mitra, Founder, Lead Angels.
Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty; P.H. Kurien, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries and IT and Ashok Rao, Chairman, TiE Global, will address the meet. E. K. Bharat Bhushan, Chief Secretary, will be the chief guest at valedictory function.
