Saving the lives of accident victims is a challenge in trauma care. Doctors have found accident victims suffering irreparable damage while being rushed to the hospital.

Against this backdrop, it was decided to train volunteers who could become saviours of road accident victims.

Passing-out parade

More than a thousand volunteers were issued certificates in trauma care under the Kanivu Action Force on Friday. There was a passing-out ceremony too.

CPI(M) district secretary P. Rajeev presided over the function.

Actor Jayasurya gave away certificates to volunteers who were trained by various hospitals in the district.

Interestingly, headload workers in the city contributed from their earnings to purchase an ambulance for the General Hospital.
